BDA Architecture have been awarded the Regional Project of the Year for 2014 in the Gold Coast/Northern Rivers Architecture Awards for Capri on Via Roma shopping centre in Isle of Capri, Gold Coast.
The jury said, “A lively reinvention of Sir Bruce Smalls’ 1960’s Capri Commercial Centre optimises its waterfront location with expansive decking areas, capturing postcard views of Surfers Paradise. Exposed services and slab soffits sit comfortably with coloured seamless slab floors, while strong skillon roof forms recall the beach house heritage of the northern Gold Coast.”
The Transitions Polishing and Grinding team were delighted to be a part of this project, with the extensive installation of our concrete flooring products throughout the shopping centre. This includes over 24,000m2 of Transitions stained concrete, polished concrete, honed concrete, epoxy coatings and floor preparation in the main areas of the shopping centre, internal and external, basement car parks and several retail tenancies.
